A journey to understand what we inherit and find where we belong.
The LOLO SHOW is a documentary about inheritance, identity, media, and the search for belonging. At the center is Marvin Burak, a controversial Philadelphia radio personality whose outspoken broadcasts on civil rights, religion, politics, and free speech made him both influential and divisive throughout the 1950s and 60s. His wife was an exotic dancer. Together, they built a life that was unconventional, public, chaotic, and deeply complicated.
After her father’s life came to a tragic end, Lois Burak spent years trying to understand the world she inherited and the people who shaped it. That search eventually led her toward radio and media herself, building her own internet show while chasing connection, identity, and a place where she finally felt understood.
Through archival recordings, family history, and personal testimony, LOLO SHOW explores what we inherit from the people who raise us and how those stories continue shaping us long after they’re gone.
